When is the Best Time to Visit Cabo? A Month-by-Month Guide

The truth is, there is no bad time to visit Los Cabos. With over 350 days of sunshine a year, the weather is almost always beautiful. However, the "best" time depends on your priorities. Are you looking for perfect weather, whale watching, surfing, or the best deals?

The High Season: November - April (The Best Weather)

This is peak season in Cabo, and for good reason. The weather is idyllic: sunny, dry, with daytime temperatures in the mid-70s to low 80s (24-28°C) and cool, comfortable evenings.

  • What's Great: The weather is perfect. It's whale watching season (peak Jan-Mar). The town is vibrant and full of energy.
  • What to Consider: This is the most crowded and expensive time to visit. You need to book flights, condos, and activities well in advance.

The Shoulder Season: May, June & October

These months can offer the best of both worlds. You get great weather, fewer crowds than the high season, and better prices.

  • May & June: The weather is starting to warm up, but the humidity is still low. The water is getting warmer, making it great for swimming and snorkeling. The spring break crowds are gone.
  • October: After the peak of the summer heat and storm season, October is a beautiful month. The landscape is at its greenest, the water is bathtub-warm, and the fishing is fantastic.

The Low Season: July - September (The Best Deals & Surf)

This is the hottest and most humid time of the year, and it's also the peak of the hurricane season. However, if you can handle the heat, you'll be rewarded with the lowest prices and fewest crowds.

  • What's Great: The best deals on flights and accommodations. The water is incredibly warm. It's the best season for surfing, with consistent south swells.
  • What to Consider: It's hot and humid, with temperatures often in the 90s (32-35°C). It is the peak of hurricane season, so travel insurance is non-negotiable.
