Everything is designed to feel like a well-stocked, comfortable home base for your San Juanico getaway.
San Juanico—better known as Scorpion Bay—is Baja at its most authentic: a small, laid-back surf town where desert meets the Pacific and the days revolve around tides, tacos, and sunsets. It’s truly off the beaten path, which is exactly why people fall in love with it.
What makes it special
One of Baja’s longest waves with a legendary chain of point breaks—perfect for long rides when the swell is on.
Quiet, uncrowded beaches and wide-open landscapes that feel a world away from the resort scene.
Things to do (beyond surfing)
Quad/ATV rentals & coastal exploring: Cruise the desert roads, chase views, and access remote spots—many rentals even have surf racks.
Ponga Beach days: Bring a towel, a book, and your sense of wonder—this area is all about simple, beautiful beach time.
Pickleball + yoga/meditation classes: A fun way to meet people and keep your routine while you’re here.
Fishing: Shore fishing or hiring a local panga/boat—fresh-catch dinners are a Scorpion Bay classic.
Local art & culture: Pop into spots like Galeria Cure for handmade crafts and one-of-a-kind souvenirs.
Eat, shop, and support the community
San Juanico runs on local love—spread your shopping across the tiendas, grab a coffee, try the neighborhood favorites, and don’t miss the Friday market for fresh produce and local bites. Let's Do Mexico
Good to know (this is part of the charm)
San Juanico connected to grid electricity in 2025, but many homes and businesses still rely on solar (and occasional outages can happen). We recommend leaning into the slower pace—this is Baja, beautifully unplugged.

Yes. The building has a filtered water system that makes the water safe for brushing teeth, washing dishes, and rinsing fruits and vegetables. For drinking water, there is also a dedicated drinking-water filter located next to the kitchen sink.
Beachfront within ~5 minutes (walk): Zipper’s, Pescadito Break, Mariscos Costa Azul & Seven Seas (walkable at low tide)

Yes. Las Olas offers on-site parking for guests staying in the complex. Parking is first come, first serve in the unshaded parking area, and each condo is allocated one parking pass/space for the duration of the stay.
Las Olas Condos are located about 15–25 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), depending on traffic. We recommend taking the toll road, which is typically the fastest and most direct route to San José del Cabo. The toll is usually around $3–$5 USD.
Drivers can also take the free highway, which goes more through local streets and may take a bit longer depending on traffic.
If you'd prefer not to worry about directions, our team can also help arrange airport transportation with a trusted local driver who will meet you at the airport and bring you directly to the condo. Many guests also choose to stop at the grocery store on the way to stock up before arriving.
Guests have access to a private surf locker that includes:
1 soft top surfboard and 1 boogieboard, 4 beach chairs, 1 beach umbrella and a beach cooler.
