The floorplan is unusually flexible. A second living area sits behind the fifth bedroom with its own private entrance, so an extended family, two couples, or a group traveling with in-laws can share the house without living on top of each other. It's the detail that makes Casa Alba work for ten where a similar-sized home wouldn't.
Outside, the pool sits in a garden of native plants and fruit trees facing open water. Guests pick papaya, passion fruit, banana and mango straight off the trees in season. From the same spot in winter, you can watch humpbacks breach.

The best surf breaks in town, waves for all levels, and Zippers right there for a beer and a plate of something while you watch. Come just before sunrise for a beach walk you'll remember.
Several within easy reach for a first-night stock-up. For specialty items, California Ranch Market is at the Shoppes at Palmilla.
